I had hardly heard about buzzwords until I came to the LSE and then I got hit by them from every corner.
From, empowerment, participation, feminization, poverty reduction, .... all you need to do to be a serious policy person is to use one of these words in your paper and you immediately become a member of that esteemed section of society trying to save the world.
They call it mainstreaming and it seems like they appear to keep the development agencies on their toes, keep things in the discourse (is that a buzzword) sphere.
There is always a rush to create a new buzzword once an older one seems to be losing its fizz.
I have been racking my brain to see if I could come up with a new one, but I have not had much luck as yet, but not to worry am still working on it and maybe one day I will get it right.
So watch this space...
